Medical Marijuana for Patients with Chronic Diseases

I draw attention to my article in Marianas Variety paper 3 or 4 years ago on medical marijuana. While the drug is no panacea, it undoubtedly has a beneficial effect on some patients with chronic diseases such as cancer and is a far safer drug than so many other 'innocent' drugs that are used, including those obtained without a prescription such as NSAIDs (ibuprofen, etc.)..Just because Guam has a dysfunctional hospital, medical system and governing body of senators are not valid reasons to deprive needy patients of a relatively harmless drug that can alleviate suffering. As to the fear of making marijuana 'more available', ask most grade school children on Guam if they can readily acquire it..
